The following hands-on exercises are designed to assist you in practising the various lessons in this section. Where constituted, you’re encouraged to carryout this exercises in groups for collaboration and effective results.
Exercise 1: Create a Social Media Post
Objective: Create a social media post to promote a new product launch for your business.
Instructions:
- Choose a product to promote.
- Write a compelling caption that highlights the key features and benefits of the product.
- Select an appropriate image or design a graphic to accompany the post.
- Use relevant hashtags to increase visibility.
- Schedule the post on a social media platform of your choice (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
Submission: Submit a screenshot or a link to the scheduled post along with a brief explanation of your choices.
Exercise 2: Design a Basic SEO Strategy
Objective: Develop a basic SEO strategy for a hypothetical online store selling handmade jewelry.
Instructions:
- Conduct keyword research to identify 5-10 relevant keywords for your products.
- Write a brief content plan outlining the type of content you will create to target these keywords (e.g., blog posts, product descriptions, guides).
- Outline on-page SEO tactics you will use (e.g., meta tags, alt text for images, internal linking).
- Propose off-page SEO strategies to build backlinks (e.g., guest blogging, influencer outreach).
